The NBL integrated iCoach into its broadcast production from the NBL27 season, under a ten-year agreement. The platform combines data, video and tracking and lets production staff and commentators query it in natural language to surface historical context, player and team trends, milestones and emerging storylines during live play. iCoach derives full spatial data from existing broadcast footage, with no additional hardware.

The case starts from a precise editorial problem: commentators were losing context in the flow of the game. Ten years with a startup that is still raising capital creates a dependency the league has not paired with any stated fallback. There is no data yet on how many queries actually make it to air.
