Capgemini x Tour de France (Inside My Race)

Every fan follows a different Tour. A model writes it, in real time.

Capgemini, the Tour de France's new Official Technology Partner (it replaced NTT, with an agreement through 2029 across 14 cycling events), launched "Inside My Race" on 4 July, rolling out during the 2026 Tour. It is a generative AI capability that turns complex datasets into contextual narratives and personalised race and rider insights, near real-time, combining multiple sources at the pace of the race. Each user builds their own account of the race: AI-aggregated content calibrated to their preferences, across web, app and Race Center. The solution was conceived and deployed within the first year of the partnership.
Por qué importa

This is the third case this cycle, with Wimbledon and the Bundesliga, where AI becomes the layer that narrates the event to the individual fan rather than broadcasting it to everyone in the same way. The speed of the NTT-to-Capgemini switch within the first year shows how quickly sports properties rotate the underlying stack: the technology partner is no longer stable infrastructure for decades, it is a replaceable supplier. Cycling, with its 3,400 km fragmented race, is the ideal testbed for personalisation. The unresolved tension is the one shared across the category: when every viewer receives a different version of the race, the shared account that makes a sporting event a collective fact is lost. The Tour de France has historically been a single narrative followed together. Inside My Race fragments it into millions of versions.
